DG Hub MO41 User Guide
DG Hub can be used to create and submit Multimodal Dangerous Goods Forms (MO41s) to PoMC and other organisations in the supply chain. The information is manually entered into DG Hub. DG Hub is easy to use for anyone familiar with MO41s and email systems.
In your web browser, go to www.dghub.com.au . You will need to Register before being able to access DG Hub. This is quick and simple. Refer to the online Help screen if you need assistance.
When you have logged in, click on MO41s on the left hand side of the screen if you are not already in the MO41s screen. To open a new MO41 click on
New above the table for listing MO41s.
If you do not yet have all of the details leave the Status as Draft, and later reset the status to Final when you complete the details. The MO41 is validated once the status is set to final and reported to PoMC. Until the status is final the information is not officially reported to any party including terminals, AMSA and PoMC.
Fill out the form by either typing the information, using the to choose from a dropdown list, or by using
to search for information. You can search
for the correct UNLOCODE for the Ports of Loading and Discharge, or you can enter the UNLOCODE if you already know it. Mandatory fields are marked with a red asterisk (*).
The next step is to select the vessel. Click on the button. You can search by the vessel name, its IMO number, or by a date range. To select the vessel double click on the row in the table, or you can click on Select in the left most column or use the
Select & Close button. If you cannot find the correct vessel visit, check that you have typed the vessel name correctly and that the date range is wide enough in case the arrival date has changed. If the visit still cannot be found then the shipping line or carrier can enter the visit details into DG Hub.
Select the carrier for your cargo by clicking on the button. This is the shipping organisation you will book your cargo with for the vessel, not necessarily the Principal Agent for the vessel. The system has all the major agents already loaded in DG Hub however, if your agent is not in the list, click on
at the bottom left. This will allow you to type the agent’s company in the field as free text. However, your agent will not be able to view the information in the DG Hub reports and you will not be able to find them in list of shipping lines to send the information to once the MO41 is completed. We therefore recommend inviting them as a trusted party and then selecting them once registered.
Next add the goods item details by clicking on the button. DG Hub contains IMDG Code data, so using the correct UN No. and other details is easy. If you know the UN No., type it into the UN No. Box and click the Search button. If you do not know the UN No. click on the Search button and you will be able to search for the Proper Shipping Name. Click on the row for the correct entry and use the
Select & Close button to select and close the search screen, or simply double click on the correct row. Depending on your selection, additional information may need to be entered such as the Technical Name, Net Explosive Quantity (NEQ) or Flashpoint. The mandatory fields will be marked with a red asterisk (*).
You can use the icon to calculate the cubic measurement of the goods item.
The Packaging Types list can be searched using the icon.
For a description of each field in the Packaging section,
hover
the
mouse
over each column heading.
At any time you can save the MO41 using the Save button. Once you have saved the MO41 for the first time, you can view and print a PDF version of the MO41 using the
PDF button
Next add the Container details. To automatically calculate the total gross weight use the icon.
If one goods item is in several containers, you can add Containers using the button. When entering multiple containers with the same type, net weight or gross, enter the information for the first container and then Add more containers as the information will be repeated for each container, saving the need to key information multiple times.
Below the container information is the area of the MO41 for the Shipper and the Packer declarations. The names entered into the Names fields will appear in capitals in the Signature of Declarant fields when the MO41 is saved as final. Note that this is in accordance with the IMDG Code 5.4.1.6.2 and is quoted underneath the signatures on the PDF of the MO41. There is also a tick box to record the person who completed the MO41 and the date and time it was completed by the.
At this point you can optionally send the Multimodal Dangerous Goods Form to another party.
Other Registered users of DG Hub can be found by clicking their company type category button. For organisations not yet registered you can type an email address into the Other Recipients box and send them an invitation to join by selecting Invite Trusted Party. Other Recipients will receive the Form as a PDF and will not be able to update any details until they register in DG Hub. Sending the Form will automatically Save and Close it. You do not need to email the MO41 to PoMC as they will receive it when it is saved with Final status.
If you do not want to send the Form, click the Save & Close button at the top of the screen to Save and Close the MO41.
You can view a sent MO41 in Email Items folder. Click on MO41s below
Email Items
Once you have created a MO41 you can open it again by using the Open button or by double clicking its row. If the MO41 does not appear, check to make sure you do not already have an MO41 open. A simple way of finding an MO41 is to sort by one of the displayed columns by clicking on the column header or use the
Search button.
To move all of the DG in an MO41 to another vessel use the button and select the new vessel visit from the list.
To save typing the same information as that on a prior MO41 you can use the Copy button at the top of the screen to copy an existing MO41. Some organisations may like to setup a draft MO41 as a template to copy. Then all you need to do is enter the information particular to this shipment, such the vessel visit and container number.
The Search facility allows you to search for an MO41 by various search criteria and by a combination of several criteria. You can sort the search results by clicking on the column heading. You can also search for a sent MO41 using many of the same search criteria, as well as MO41s sent to a particular recipient.
